Mignonne 2nd Anniversary Event - Mark Your Calendars!

We are preparing an in-store Reception and Huge Sale in recognition of our 2nd year of business in the historic Old Oakland district.

The reception will be Thursday, June 26th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  DJ enaturalselection will be at the turntable and wine and refreshments will be served.

Our friend, Hannah Stouffer, has created another exclusive design for us in honor of this milestone.  Her gorgeous "Je Suis Mignonne" art piece adorns a spacious 100% cotton tote, which will be on sale beginning Thursday, June 26th.  We will also be raffling off the new bag throughout the evening.  You've got to be there to win!

Nicole Hanshaw's art work will be available and is in its final days in the store, so you won't want to miss that either.

Longtime supporter and artiste extraordinaire, Hannah Stouffer, designed a beautiful image depicting the essence of Mignonne, as part of our first year anniversary reception.

Hannah is an amazing illustrator and graphic artist, whose commercial illustrations have graced countless products and pages, including Benefit cosmetics, 1800 Tequila and Coca Cola Vanilla, to name a few. A recent claim to fame for Hannah is her featured recognition by 7x7SF.com for her art prowess. She was recognized in their Best of Home + Design 2008 series. Hannah's work is hot, hot, hot!

"San Francisco based illustrator Hannah Stouffer finds a great deal of comfort in imagery- its an admiration that is often times overwhelming. She has an infatuation with icons that reflect and embrace specific eras and genres. Mignonne Introduces New Candle Line.

We are pleased to begin offering Archipelago Botanicals candles. Archipelago Botanicals candles are hand poured, using only the finest ingredients and fragrance oils available. Made from a premium wax blend containing more than 50% natural soy wax, Archipelago Botanicals candles burn longer and cleaner than regular candles.

We currently are presenting your choice of pillars and a beautiful boxed candle.

One nice thing about a pillar is you have different decorative options including displaying using your own candle holder. You'll find a variety of scents and colors. Savannah, cream colored and scented with a blend of Jasmine and Gardenia. Pacifica, a light aqua color, is scented with Ylang Ylang, Cedar and Sea Greens to create a fresh clean aroma. Petale, in blush pink, is an intoxicatingly feminine scent, with white lilies, jasmine, Moroccan rose and pear. Our pillars are 2.5" wide and 5" tall. They are wrapped handsomely in tissue and ribbon, ready to go as a nice gift or prepared to store in a linen drawer, extending the scent until unwrapped for display.


Our boxed candle of choice is the Excursion line. In a clean white box, this candle makes a sophisticated gift. We've selected Provence (French lavender and thyme, an unusual and calming fragrance mix) and Positano (combining white nectarine with sweet persimmon and pomegranate).



In the future, we'll be expanding our Archipelago line to include additional seasonal fragrances and scented oil diffusers, a great alternative to candles for home fragrance.

Mignonne Reception during Art Murmur

Mignonne now stays open late the first Friday of each month in recognition of Oakland's art event, the "Art Murmur".  A group of galleries in Oakland have openings, and because Mignonne shows work by local artists on a rotating basis we felt it appropriate to become a part of the "scene".

The first Friday of the month is a perfect time to plan a night out in Oakland ... Stroll over to Mignonne, have a glass of wine and check out the collections by this month's local artists.  Take the art walk tour and end up with a delicious dinner at one of the great Old Oakland restaurants. 

Appreciating art is a great outlet for keeping us sane, inspired and motivated in today's frenzied world.  Oakland is overflowing with creative and inspiring individuals.  

Nicole Hanshaw and Gary Comoglio, our featured artists, are two of these individuals ... finding time and passion in their lives to create beauty for us to enjoy!

Mignonne will offer wine from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm, along with some beautiful original works of art, on Friday June 6th.  See you there!
